The Patrol Division is responsible for responding to all calls for service, as well as enforcing motor vehicle law, investigating motor vehicle accidents, serving criminal summons and arrest warrants, and patrolling commercial and residential areas.
The officers who serve on the patrol division work a rotating schedule of days and nights. Patrol officers are responsible for attending departmental training, court, and any other special assignments that may arise such as security details for community events. Patrol officers must complete a field training program with a Field Training Officer (FTO) prior to working alone.
Officers in the patrol division have five levels of pay grade. These five grades are Patrol Officer I, Patrol Officer II, Officer First Class, Master Officer, and Senior Officer. Officers reach these levels based on years of service and completion of advanced training.
