Constructed in 2006, the H.L. Miller Park Greenway offers 0.5 miles of paved trail just blocks away from the historic downtown business district.
Greenway users have the opportunity to view mature hardwood trees while enjoying the soothing sounds of Middle Branch as it flows through the park. Several footbridges offer view points for spotting aquatic life. The looped greenway trail connects to sidewalks along Elm Avenue, S Franklin Street, and S Taylor Street. Parking is available between the Park and Town Hall and along Elm Avenue. Several bus stops are within three blocks.
In February 2014, a stream bank stabilization project will begin. This project will reduce erosion of the unnamed stream that runs through the park. Two Eagle Scouts will be replanting the banks with live stakes and container plants and installing new bird houses and outdoor educational components. Vistors are urged to avoid the area while construction is underway. Signs will be posted at the park entrances notifying visitors of temporary closures.
