Sanford Creek at Heritage South
Trail Type: 10-feet wide asphalt, concrete and boardwalk trail
Length: 0.85 mile
Parking: Parking is available at the Sanford Creek Avenue cul-de-sac.
Construction of this greenway was completed by the developers of the Heritage South subdivision. The Sanford Creek Greenway offers approximately 0.85 miles of paved and boardwalk trails, with connections to several streets in the Heritage South subdivision, as well as a connection to the Town of Rolesville's Mill Bridge Nature Park. Trail connections along Marshall Farm Street, Sanford Creek Avenue and Fawn Lily Drive are all great places to begin your greenway experience.
Greenway users have the opportunity to experience views of aquatic and wetland life along Sanford Creek. This shade-covered trail offers an escape from the summer heat.
The Town of Wake Forest is currently working to extend the greenway from its current terminus at Marshall Farm Street, westward crossing Forestville Road, to Smith Creek. This project is expected to be complete in late 2017.
