D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. Offered to kindergarten, elementary and middle school students, the program educates children and young adults about the dangers of drugs, gangs and violence and teaches them to make healthy life choices.

The Wake Forest Police Department hosts an annual "Carnival for the Kids" to raise money to purchase certificates, T-shirts, and other awards for D.A.R.E graduates.
