The primary function of the Inspections Department is to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the public. This objective is achieved through the uniform enforcement of state and local laws, as well as local ordinances within the town's jurisdiction.

The Inspections Department is located in the ground floor of the Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St. Our offices are most easily accessible by utilizing the Taylor Street entrance to Town Hall - which runs behind the facility.

Fire Watch Requirements

Please Note - Mechanics' Lien Agent

No permit shall be issued where the cost of work is $30,000 or more without the designation of a Mechanics' Lien Agent. Contractors must provide Mechanics' Lien Agent information at the time of permit application and information must be posted on the job site in order to provide the information to all sub-contractors. Lien holder information is not required if the work is being done to an existing single family dwelling in which the applicant owns and resides. Forms are available at the Inspections Department and on the Forms & Applications web page.
