Phone Notification System

The Town of Wake Forest is committed to keeping residents safe and informed about events that impact their lives.

In 2015 the Town transitioned to Blackboard Connect as its town-to-resident notification system. With this service, town leaders can send personalized text messages, emails and voice messages to residents and businesses on a variety of devices within minutes with specific information about time-sensitive or common-interest issues such as emergencies and local community matters.

Blackboard Connect service is used to supplement our current communication plans and augment public safety/first responder services.

Sign Up Today

Blackboard Connect allows you to sign up to receive emergency and community messages through a preferred method of communication. This may include a cell phone, work phone, home phone, text message, e-mail or more. In fact, you may provide up to 10 phone numbers, 10 email addresses, and five addresses.

The Town of Wake Forest initially created a calling database comprised of landline phone numbers by extracting information from public record sources. However, not all phone numbers of residents and property owners were included - specifically cell phone numbers.

If you reside or own property within the incorporated town limits of Wake Forest and would like to receive Blackboard Connect emergency messages, you may sign up by clicking the "Sign Up Now" image above.

Know - Before You Sign Up

  • When enrolling in Blackboard Connect, use your physical address - not a post office number or out of town address.

  • The number that will show up on your caller ID is 919-435-9429.

  • We know that your personal information is important, and rest assured that we will not share it with anyone.

  • We know that most people don't like receiving telephone calls, so we'll only schedule a call when its absolutely necessary. In the meantime, we will focus on utilizing text messages and email.
