Family Movie Night at Joyner Park - CANCELED
***UPDATE - This event has been canceled due to the threat of inclement weather.
The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department is hosting a free, monthly outdoor movie series through August at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road. “Family Movie Nights at Joyner Park” feature a variety of family-friendly film favorites and genres, including comedies, dramas, and action, all projected on a 26-foot inflatable movie screen in the park’s amphitheater.
The third in our series of Family Movie Nights will feature “Mufasa: The Lion King” on Saturday, July 19, at 8:30 p.m. Anyone planning to attend is urged to arrive early as viewing space may be limited. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket and/or chairs but are reminded that alcohol, smoking, and unleashed pets are prohibited.
Free and open to everyone, Family Movie Nights also include a movie-related pre-show activity for kids beginning at 7:30 p.m. and assorted food vendors onsite selling snacks and refreshments.
As part of Saturday’s event, newly appointed Wake Forest Police Chief Julius Jefferson will host a “Meet & Greet” from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The Wake Forest Police Department tent will be set up just outside the entrance to the Joyner Park Amphitheater. The occasion will give community members to meet Chief Jefferson, ask questions, and learn more about his vision for the WFPD.
In the event of rain, Family Movie Night may be canceled. Updates will be posted on the Town website, Nextdoor site, and Facebook page. Smart phone users who have downloaded the Town of Wake Forest app will receive a push notification message concerning any schedule changes.
The final Family Movie Night of 2025 is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 2, and will feature the film “Transformers One.” For more information, visit bit.ly/WFFamilyMovieNights or contact PRCR Events Coordinator Suja Jacob at 919-435-9558 or sjacob@wakeforestnc.gov.
