Live fire training exercise along Winding Way set for Saturday

The Wake Forest Fire Department (WFFD) will conduct a live fire training exercise Saturday, Feb. 17, at 8:30 a.m. at a donated structure located at 7137 Winding Way.
Personnel from WFFD, Wake Technical Community College, Rolesville Fire Department, and Wake County EMS will participate in the exercise which is expected to conclude by 5 p.m.
The WFFD attempts to conduct controlled burns in a manner that minimizes smoke impact to nearby roadways and neighborhoods. However, heavy amounts of smoke and ash are expected. Residents and businesses adjacent to the area are encouraged to keep windows closed throughout the day on Saturday.
