Court updates conditions of release for Kochetkov
On Monday, Sept. 17, at approximately 1 a.m., Wake Forest Police arrested Arthur Vladimir Kochetkov at 6212 Tiffield Way. Kochetkov was charged with misdemeanor communicating threats for statements made via Facebook.
On Thursday, as a result of the ongoing investigation involving Kochetkov, the charges pending against him were upgraded to a Class H felony in violation of NC General Statute 14-277.5 - Making a false report concerning mass violence on educational property.
Kochetkov’s first court appearance for that felony charge - Making a False Report Concerning Mass Violence on Educational Property - was earlier this afternoon. During that appearance, the conditions of his release were updated to include the following:
$100,000 Secured Bond ($200,000 total with other charges);
Prohibited from leaving North Carolina;
Prohibited from being on public or private educational property;
Prohibited from being within one mile of Jones Dairy Elementary School;
Prohibited from using social media;
Electronic monitoring upon release (if available); and
Prohibited from possessing firearms or replicas thereof (Airsoft, BB, etc.)
Kochetkov, 33, remains in the Wake County Detention Center. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 10.
The Wake Forest Police Department and Wake County District Attorney's Office, with assistance from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Wake County Public School System, State Bureau of Investigation, Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Attorney’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies, are actively working this case and have made it a top priority.
