Thursday, July 24, 2025 - 2:24pm

The Town of Wake Forest has initiated a major road rehabilitation and resurfacing project targeting over 60 local streets and roadways. The 2025 Road Resurfacing Project consists of concrete work, which began in February, and asphalt work which is being scheduled now. The initiative involves full depth patching, roadway repairs, and repaving, along with the replacement and repair of curb and gutter. Several black ADA ramps are also being replaced with yellow mats per national standards.

During the week of July 28 , milling and paving operations are scheduled along these streets:

  • Brick Street

  • Brewer Avenue

  • McDowell Drive

  • East Oak Avenue

  • East Cedar Avenue

  • East Spring Street

  • Ledyard Court

  • North Franklin Street

  • Rock Springs Road

During the week of August 4, milling and paving operations are scheduled along these streets:

  • Brewers Glynn Court

  • Brewer Circle

  • Carroll Street

  • East Nelson Avenue

  • East Spring Street

  • Ledgerock Road

  • Ledyard Court

  • North Franklin Street

  • South Allen Road

Prior to milling and paving operations, affected residents along these streets will be notified via door hanger. During the scheduled work dates, these residents will be prohibited from parking their vehicles along the street. Vehicles left on the street on the scheduled work dates will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Once the work begins, detour signs and flaggers will direct traffic around the work areas. Motorists in these areas should use caution, obey flag signals from construction personnel, take the signed detour, or choose an alternate route.
