The Wake Forest Unified Development Ordinance was officially adopted on Tuesday, July 16, 2013. As a result, several portions of the Planning Department's home page are being reconstructed. We expect the final version of the UDO to be available on the website soon. While the web page is under construction, please contact the planning department at 919-435-9510 for questions pertaining to the UDO.
UDO Blog Update

The UDO is in its complete adoption draft form. The public hearing for adoption is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the town hall board chambers, 301 S. Brooks St. The public hearing will stay open for at least one month in order to allow public input. In addition to the public hearing, residents will have an opportunity to view and comment on the draft UDO during an informal open house on Monday, April 8, in the ground floor meeting room at town hall. The UDO open house will consist of two sessions offered at different times during the day to enable citizens to choose the time that is most convenient for them. The first session will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., while the second session will be from 4 to 6 p.m.
The draft zoning map has been revised to reflect the new zoning districts as well as past conditional use zoning cases. The map also reflects several new zoning districts that have been requested by various property owners. In an effort to reduce the amount of layers on the zoning map, a supplemental overlay districts map has been prepared illustrating all proposed and existing overlay districts.
A zoning comparison map has been prepared to illustrate the zoning changes that will occur with adoption of the UDO.
