Youth Empowerment Workshop Aug. 17
The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department will sponsor a Youth Empowerment Workshop for young men and women ages 12-17 on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Alston-Massenburg Center, 416 N. Taylor St.
The workshop is designed to help young men and women learn skills and strategies to make a positive difference in their lives and neighborhoods. Discussion will be geared towards empowering students to help create an inclusive and connected community. The session will also include a school supplies giveaway and raffle.
The featured speaker will be former NC State football player and current Student Diversity Coordinator Joseph Johnson.
The event is free, and a continental breakfast will be provided. Due to limited seating, pre-registration is required at www.wakeforestnc.recdesk.com.
