Town of Wake Forest app offers new, useful features

Monday, June 10, 2019 - 3:08pm

In 2012 the Town of Wake Forest unveiled a free smartphone app that provides direct access to useful information about Wake Forest and encourages two-way communication between the Town and its residents. Since then, thousands of Android and iPhone users have downloaded the app and enjoyed instant access to important information about Town programs, services and events.

Recently, the Town added several new features to the app, including digital versions of the “Official Guide to Wake Forest” and “Residents Guide to Trash, Recycling & Yard Waste Pickup,” plus a 2019 Independence Day Celebration portal.

Among its many other functions, the Town of Wake Forest app also allows iPhone and Android users to:

  • utilize “SeeClickFix” for prompt action on street maintenance, lights, potholes and graffiti, using the app to send a photo and exact location of the problem;

  • receive breaking news messages;

  • access information about Town-sponsored events and events at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre;

  • view Town job openings;

  • utilize the “Waste Wizard;”

  • access contact information for every Town department.

The app is available for download at iTunes, the App Store, or the Android Market. It can also be downloaded by visiting www.wakeforestnc.gov/communications/app-download and scanning the appropriate QR code.

The Town of Wake Forest app was developed in conjunction with Purple Monkey Apps, a Wake Forest company specializing in app development.
