Search leads to man's arrest on drugs and weapons charges
A Wake Forest man was arrested and charged with several weapons and drug offenses early Friday morning following a probable cause search along North Allen Road.
Just after 2:30 a.m., officers made contact with Jamie Daniels, 24, in his parked vehicle in the New Hope Village parking lot. During the encounter, officers observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle, which prompted a probable cause search.
The subsequent search revealed one loaded semi-automatic handgun, one loaded .45 caliber handgun, a box of 9 mm ammunition and a box of .45 ammunition, along with nine grams of crack and powder cocaine, several OxyContin pills, a digital scale, and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Daniels was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to sell and distribute a schedule II substance, possession with intent to sell and distribute cocaine, maintaining a vehicle for sell of a controlled substance, driving while license revoked, and possession of an open container of alcohol by a driver or passenger.
He was trespassed from all Wake County Public Housing and transported to the Wake County Jail.
