Community invited to free COVID vaccine information webinar on Thursday

The Town of Wake Forest is partnering with WakeMed and the Wake County Public Health Department to host a free webinar on COVID-19 vaccinations this Thursday, Aug. 19, from 6-7 p.m.

“COVID-19 Vaccines: Separating Fact from Fiction,” will feature a research-based presentation by Dr. Chris DeRienzo, System Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Quality at WakeMed Health and Hospitals, and Dr. Nicole Mushonga, Wake County Government’s Associate Medical Director and Epidemiology Program Director.

The presentation will address how COVID-19 vaccines were created and work, vaccine safety and efficacy, the Delta variant, and local resources. The session will conclude with a question-and-answer period.

Community members are asked to register in advance at www.wakeforestnc.gov/covid-19-coronavirus/covid-vaccine-webinar. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.

Registrants may submit questions in advance and during the webinar.

The information webinar will air live on WFTV 10 - the Town’s government access channel. WFTV 10 is available to residents and businesses that subscribe to Spectrum Cable TV service and provided in real-time streaming video at www.wakeforestnc.gov/communications/wftv-10.
