PRCR cancels adult athletic leagues & suspends youth leagues through May 1
As COVID-19 (coronavirus) cases continue to rise in Wake County and beyond, our top priority remains the health and safety of our community and employees. We are committed to following recommendations and protocols established by local, state and federal agencies that are monitoring the situation and providing guidance on how to respond.
In an effort to limit activities where individuals may come into close contact with each other and in alignment with our focus on protecting our community and staff, the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department has canceled all adult athletics activities through May 1. These activities include all adult spring softball and kickball leagues.
The PRCR Department has also postponed all youth athletics, including spring baseball and softball leagues, through at least May 1.
Officials will continue to monitor guidance from public health agencies and provide updates on PRCR programming beyond May 1 as circumstances warrant.
In the meantime, the PRCR Department will continue to offer a liberal refund policy for canceled and suspended programs. Full refunds will be issued for all registered programs canceled due to COVID-19, while pro-rated refunds will be issued for suspended programs that resume. For more information, call 919-435-9560.
As this situation continues to evolve, expect further announcements about Town operations and service modifications.
