Mask mandate ends today for Town Hall & other Town facilities

Friday, November 5, 2021 - 4:08pm

In response to declining COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in our area, the Town of Wake Forest will no longer require visitors to Town Hall and other Town facilities to wear masks or face coverings as of Monday, Nov. 8.

Starting Monday, the decision to wear a mask will be left to the discretion of each visitor to Town Hall and all other Town facilities, including the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre and all indoor parks and recreation facilities (Joyner Park Community Center, Flaherty Park Community Center, Alston-Massenburg Center, and Wake Forest Community House).

Despite the lifting of the indoor mask requirement, unvaccinated visitors to Town facilities are strongly encouraged to wear a mask. In addition, the Town will require all unvaccinated Town employees to continue wearing a mask or face covering inside Town facilities.

Town officials will continue to monitor COVID-19 and make adjustments to protocol as conditions warrant.

Town Hall is open weekdays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Anyone who is uncomfortable conducting business inside Town Hall is encouraged to use the Town’s array of online services available through the Customer Service Central portal on the Town website at www.wakeforestnc.gov/customer-service-central.

In addition, residents may continue to drop off utility bill payments, rental deposits and paperwork (leases, letters of credit, copies of photo IDs, etc.) in the drive-up drop boxes located in Town Hall’s Brooks Street parking lot and in front of the Alston-Massenburg Center, 416 N. Taylor St. Town staff check the drop boxes twice daily and will mail acknowledgements and receipts upon request. For more information, call Customer Service at 919-435-9478.
