Wake Forest Power offers Smart Thermostats to residential customers as a way to save electricity and lower home energy bills.
Through these new internet-connected thermostats, customers can manage their homes' heating and cooling systems anywhere, anytime either online or by a mobile app.
Once the thermostat is installed, participating customers can program the comfort settings and begin earning monthly load management credits. Then, on the coldest and hottest days of each month, Wake Forest Power will remotely adjust the thermostat by a few degrees, thereby increasing the energy savings while also reducing the peak demand on our electric grid.
A Smart Thermostat is a great fit for any Wake Forest Power residential customer who owns and occupies their home, has an electric heat pump or HVAC system, and has internet access and/or a smart phone.
