Due to recent issues with our Wake Forest Pre-Pay Power payment system, we are temporarily suspending credit card and debit card payments for all pre-pay accounts.

Until these issues are resolved, all pre-pay customers will continue to receive uninterrupted electric service, and none will be disconnected for non-payment.

Please note: Your electric meter will continue to measure the amount of electricity (kilowatt-hours, kWh) consumed, and you will be responsible for the amount recorded.

SmartGrid, our pre-pay system provider, is investigating the cause of the current issues and will share the results of their findings as soon as possible.

Pre-Pay Power offers you the opportunity to pay when you want, in the amounts you want. Instead of receiving a traditional paper bill that is generated once each month, usage is calculated daily. As a Pre-Pay customer, you'll never pay a late charge and you won't be charged costly disconnect and reconnect fees if your account runs out of credit.

 

Access Your Account Information

Wake Forest Pre-Pay Power customers can access their account information by logging on, calling 919-283-5757, or by downloading the Town of Wake Forest mobile app.

 

No Deposit

There is no deposit for customers to have Wake Forest Pre-Pay Power. Current post-pay customers are eligible to have their deposit refunded and applied toward their current energy costs. This puts your deposit money working for you now instead of being held on your account to secure future service.

 

Enjoy Flexibility

Under the Pre-Pay Power plan, you can load up for months at a time or add funds throughout the month, whichever works best for you.

 

Enjoy Control

Pre-Pay customers choose how they are notified when their balance is running low. Customized notifications can be received via email, automated calling service or text message. Each Pre-Pay customer can choose the balance at which they want to be alerted to replenish their account. Notifications are sent with 7, 3 and 1 day worth of power remaining.

 

How to Sign Up

New and existing customers must submit an application online for Wake Forest Pre-Pay Power. Customers can also apply in person at the Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St.
