Start your day off at the Wake Forest Historical Museum. (Please view their website for information on exhibits, hours of operations, and more.)
Drive (about 6 minutes) or walk (about 20 minutes) to Downtown Wake Forest for lunch at Shorty’s Famous Hot Dogs, serving our community since 1916.
After, take our virtual Downtown Wake Forest Historic District Tour. You will be able to read and listen to learn more about the historic buildings and their legends, some dating back over 100 years. Be sure to also look for the historic plaques mounted on the exterior of many of the buildings in the Nationally Registered Historic District.
During you walk, don't forget to grab a coffee or tea from either Black and White Coffee Company, Sugar Magnolia Cafe, or Wake Forest Coffee Company.
Stop into our local shops along the way to find unique gifts that can only be found in Downtown Wake Forest. For North Carolina and Wake Forest themed products, be sure to visit the NC General Store, The Cotton Company, and Southern Suds and Gifts.
Finish your day with sweet treat from Lumpy’s Ice Cream!
