Wake Forest Power introduces automated phone payment system

Friday, December 4, 2020 - 3:05pm

Wake Forest Power customers can now make utility payments 24 hours a day, seven days a week using a new automated phone system. To make a payment, customers can call 833-415-0541, then follow the prompts to provide their electric account number and credit/debit card number. Accounts will then be updated to show the payment information and the new balance.

Customers can also use the new phone system to donate to H.O.P.E. Offered by the Town of Wake Forest, Helping Others by Providing Electricity is an initiative designed to help financially disadvantaged electric customers pay their utility bills. The program is funded by the generous donations of WFP customer and administered through a partnership between the Town and ChurchNet, a local non-profit organization assisting area people in need.

The activation of the automated phone payment system comes just a few days after the introduction of a new and improved online payment system. The new online platform allows customers to:

  • pay electric bills with credit cards, debit cards, or bank account and routing number;

  • make one-time payments or set up recurring automatic payments;

  • receive email reminders and emailed receipts of payment;

  • view consumption and account information;

  • view and download current and past utility bills;

  • opt out of mailed paper bills; and

  • manage multiple utility accounts with one user profile.

An online “Customer Portal Guide” offering step-by-step instructions for setting up login and password information is available at http://bit.ly/WFOnlineBillPay.

Customers who currently use automatic bank draft, equal payment plan, pay by mail, or pay in-person can continue to use those methods, but may choose to sign up for online bill pay to utilize its features as well.

The new online customer portal and automated phone system are made possible via a partnership with Paymentus, a Charlotte-based firm which specializes in eBilling and payment solutions. For more information, contact Customer Service Manager Andrew Brown, Jr. at abrown@wakeforestnc.gov.
