WAKE FOREST, NC – Wake Forest Police say an attempted robbery, assault, and vehicle theft Saturday at Sam’s Club, 11460 Royal Cotton Road, was committed by the same person responsible for a Friday assault at the Food Lion in Youngsville.
Police say at approximately 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, Anthony Howard Hall, II, 413 W. Oak Ave., Wake Forest, approached a female in the Sam’s parking lot and demanded money before assaulting her and throwing her to the ground. A male who witnessed the altercation approached to intervene, and Hall punched him to the ground. A female who tried to intervene was also pushed to the ground. A second female who exited her vehicle to see what was happening left her car door open. Hall stole her vehicle and fled the scene.
A short time later, NC State Highway Patrol intercepted the stolen vehicle near North Hills in Raleigh. A brief vehicle chase ensued leading troopers into the North Hills Shopping District. Hall exited the vehicle and fled on foot before tackling a security guard he thought was an officer, before being subdued and arrested.
Hall (photo attached) was charged with one count of attempted common law robbery, one count of larceny of a motor vehicle, two counts of assault on a female, and one count of simple assault.
Hall’s arrest closed a Youngsville case that occurred Friday evening when Hall seriously injured a woman in similar circumstances at the Food Lion parking lot. For that incident, he was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, malicious assault in secret, assault inflicting serious injury, and injury to personal property.
A recent social media post suggested a “group of men” were responsible for the Friday and Saturday incidents. However, a thorough investigation revealed Hall to be the lone culprit in both cases.
He is currently being held in the Wake County Detention Center with no bond.
The Wake Forest Police Department wishes to thank the NC State Highway Patrol and the Youngsville Police Department for their assistance and cooperation.
