If you’re looking for a “hauntingly” good time this fall, then don’t miss the upcoming season of “Spirits of Wake Forest” ghost walk in historic downtown Wake Forest. These tours are presented by Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. (WFD), in partnership with Firebox Theatre Company (FTC).

Downtown Wake Forest’s buildings and sidewalks have seen well over 100 years of history, and they have some eerie stories to tell! Join WFD, Inc. and FTC's incredible cast of storytellers to learn about the restless spirits that make up just a small piece of downtown’s haunted history.

Tickets are $20/person and go on sale Thursday, September 4, 2025, at noon. Tickets will remain available until sold out.

Tour Schedule

Tours will be offered September 25 through October 30 according to the following schedule:

Thursdays and Fridays - 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.
Saturdays - 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.

Location

Tours will take place in Historic Downtown Wake Forest’s business district, primarily along South White Street. We will meet outside Wake Forest Town Hall (301 South Brooks Street) and tours will begin promptly at their scheduled time. Please note that tours are within the business district only and will not include the private residences located along North and South Main Streets.

Know Before You Go

This year’s tour will feature a number of last year’s favorite stories, along with plenty of new material.
Each tour will last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Tours will take place rain or shine. If severe weather poses a risk to public safety during your scheduled tour it will be cancelled, and all ticketholders will receive refunds.
The maximum number of participants for each tour is 20.
Tours are within the business district only and will not include private residences.
Tours are recommended for ages 8 and up. Younger children are welcome at their parents' discretion.
Any attendees under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
As much as we love your furry family members, we respectfully ask that you please leave your pets at home.
Each attendee will be asked to sign an activity waiver at the time of their purchased tour. If under the age of 18, a legal guardian will be asked to sign. For the verbiage of the waiver, please read the next section, "Waiver of Participation."

Waiver of Participation

The Waiver of Participation states:

I, as a condition of my participation in the SPIRITS OF WAKE FOREST GHOST TOUR (hereinafter “activity” or “activities”), hereby understand and agree to the following terms and conditions.

I understand that I will not be considered an employee, agent or representative of the Town of Wake Forest or Wake Forest Downtown, Inc. and am not entitled to any benefits of any kind, including, but not limited to, unemployment, workers’ compensation or retirement benefits.

I also understand I am solely responsible for my health and safety, and acknowledge I am physically capable of participating in activities. I am aware of the risks and dangers inherent in participating in the activities and may cease my participation in this activity or decline to participate at any time. I accept and assume these risks and agree to release, discharge and hold harmless the Town of Wake Forest and Wake Forest Downtown, Inc., its officers, employees, partners, and agents from any and all actions, the actions of others, or from dangerous or defective property or equipment, known or unknown, now existing or which may arise in the future, on account of or in any way related to or arising out of my participation in this activities.

I understand that signing this Waiver and Release is a condition of my participation in the activities. I have carefully read this Waiver and Release and understand its contents. If I am under eighteen (18) years of age, my parent or legal guardian has completely reviewed this Waiver and Release, understands and consents to its terms, and authorizes my participation by his/her signature below.

In addition, I give my permission for the use my name, and photographs or digital images of me and/or my children in materials and publications produced and distributed by the Town of Wake Forest and Wake Forest Downtown, Inc., without compensation. The images may be used in any manner or media without any notification, inspection or compensation. I release the Town of Wake Forest and Wake Forest Downtown, Inc . and those acting pursuant to its authority from liability for any violation of any personal or proprietary right I may have in connection with such recording or use.

I agree to sign that my printed name and signature as contained on a list of such signatures constitutes my full consent and agreement to the terms and conditions in this waiver.
