We're always excited to welcome new members to the Wake Forest Center for Active Aging!
Eligibility
Individuals aged 55 and older are eligible for membership. Participants must be able to function independently; otherwise, a caregiver must be present at all times. Caregivers are not required to have a membership.
RecCards
Both Wake Forest residents and non-residents must have a Recreation Card (RecCard) to access amenities offered at the Wake Forest Center for Active Aging.
Non-Wake Forest residents are required to pay a $25 annual fee for their WFCAA RecCards, while Wake Forest residents receive theirs for free. RecCards are valid for one year from date of purchase and must be renewed yearly.
The decision to charge non-Wake Forest residents for their RecCards is modeled after the policy adopted by the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department. This approach offers an appropriate benefit to Wake Forest taxpayers whose tax dollars help pay for the WFCAA building, maintenance, and operations without imposing an unfair burden on people who enjoy the WFCAA but happen to live outside Wake Forest.
For both residents and non-residents, there is a $5 replacement fee for lost or stolen cards.
Members have access to a variety of social, educational, and wellness programs and opportunities at the Center. These include both free and fee-based programs. Offerings may include drop-in activities, wellness programs, informational sessions, and technology assistance. Members are also welcome to utilize common spaces to socialize and connect with others.
Onboarding
Our onboarding process includes a welcome video, member registration paperwork, and a tour of our facility, which we offer Monday-Friday, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
