2026 National Trails Day 5K/3K

The PRCR Advisory Board will host a family-friendly 5K/3K walk/run as part of National Trails Day on Saturday, June 6, at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road.
Check-in on the day of the event starts at 7 a.m.
The race will begin promptly at 8 a.m.
Volunteers Needed
You can help ensure this exciting event is a success by volunteering and helping runners enjoy every mile of these charming trails.
Volunteers are needed at various times between 6:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Volunteer duties will be general in nature and may include setting up, cleaning up, registration, water table, assisting participants, and distributing medals.
Local civic groups and community organizations are especially encouraged to participate, along with local students interested in earning community service hours. For more information, email Special Events Coordinator Jada Smith.
Requirements
- Must be 15+ years old to volunteer.
- 18+ years old will need to complete an approved background check before they can volunteer.
2026 Entry Fees
The entry fee for the 5K:
- $30 till March 31;
- $35 from April 1-May 14;
- $40 from May 15-June 4; and
- $45 the day before and day of the race.
The entry fee for the 3K:
- $25 before March 31;
- $30 April 1-May 14;
- $35 May 15-June 4; and
- $40 the day before and day of the race.
Please note: Registrations will be accepted on the day of the event. Everyone who registers before May 8 will receive a race T-shirt.
Packet Pickup
Registered participants may pick up their packets on Friday, June 5, from 5-7 p.m. at Joyner Park Community Center.
Packets may also be picked up the day of the race from 7-7:45 a.m. near the Joyner Park Amphitheater.

Course Description
The USATF certified 5K and 3K courses will be run entirely within Joyner Park. A loop of the paved trails throughout Joyner Park will comprise the 3.1-mile course for the 5K and 1.8 mile course for the 3K.
There will be water stations along the course.
PLEASE NOTE: Strollers and dogs are welcome but will be placed at the back of the pack. Parents/guardians are allowed to run alongside participants but must also register.
