Following a 13-month investigation, the Wake Forest Police Department has arrested and charged former Wake Forest Chamber President Elizabeth Simpers, 712 Bennett Ridge Court, Wake Forest, with four counts of embezzlement.
Simpers, 49, is currently being held in the Wake County Detention Center under a $100,000 unsecured bond. Her first court appearance is Friday, Aug. 8.
