Wake Forest arrest Raleigh man in Saturday night shooting

Around 9 p.m. Saturday, Wake Forest Police responded to a reported shooting in the parking lot of Lowe’s Foods, 12524 Capital Blvd.

Upon arrival, officers located two individuals who stated that the suspect, Mirza Zukanovic, shot at them following a domestic-related altercation.

Zukanovic, 35, fled the scene in a vehicle after a bystander, who witnessed the shooting and is licensed to carry, fired his own handgun at the suspect.

No one was injured during the incident, and there is no known damage to property.

A short time later, officers responded to a crash involving Zukanovic along Stadium Drive.

Zukanovic, 14133 Kennington Park Dr., Apt. 107, Raleigh, was arrested and charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, discharging a firearm in the city limits, driving while impaired, no operators license, failure to wear a seatbelt, and failure to maintain lane control.

Zukanovic is currently being held in the Wake County Detention Center under no bond.
