UPDATE: Accident shuts down portion of northbound Capital Boulevard/US 1

All lanes of northbound Capital Boulevard/US 1 remain closed but are expected to reopen by midnight.

Five people were transported to a local hospital.

An accident has closed all lanes of northbound Capital Boulevard/US 1 at Durham Road/NC 98. Northbound traffic is being diverted onto Durham Road/NC 98.
