***UPDATE - Well, that didn't take nearly as long as we expected. Thanks to the herculean efforts of our amazing crews, the tree has been removed and the playground is open!
The information below was posted at 7:25 p.m.
WAKE FOREST, NC – The E. Carroll Joyner Park playground, situated behind the Joyner Park Community Center, 701 Harris Road, will be closed today (Friday, March 27) until mid-afternoon.
The temporary closure is necessary to allow crews to remove a rotting tree near the playground that poses a danger to public safety.
Signage and barricades will be posted to inform the public of the closure.
The work is expected to be completed and the playground reopened by 3 p.m.
