Gas leak closes Joyner Park

***UPDATE - The gas leak at Joyner Park has been sealed. The park is open, but Joyner Park Community Center remains closed. The facility will reopen Tuesday, April 2, at 8 a.m.
The following information was distributed today at 5:06 p.m.:
Emergency personnel are on the scene of a ruptured gas line at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road. The gas line was reportedly ruptured by construction crews working in the area.
Out of an abundance of caution, Joyner Park and the Joyner Park Community Center have been evacuated.
Dominion Energy crews are responding and will seal off the leak, but there is no timetable on when the park and the community center will reopen.
