Free Paper Shredding & Electronics Recycling Event offered Saturday as part of Forest Fest

  • Wake Forest will host a free Paper Shredding & Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (or until the trucks are full) ) in the parking lot of the Wake Forest Center for Active Aging (WFCAA), 235 E. Holding Ave. 
  • A drive-thru system utilizing the East Holding Avenue entrance to the WFCAA will be implemented to help ensure a smooth drop-off experience. 
  • All paper will be shredded on-site, then recycled. Participants are urged to help reduce contamination by removing all non-paper materials in advance, such as plastic binders, plastic folders, and metal tabs. 
  • Community members can also dispose of laptops, cell phones, circuit boards, and other electronics items.

WAKE FOREST, NC – The Town of Wake Forest will host a free Paper Shredding & Electronics Recycling Event on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (or until the trucks are full) in the parking lot of the Wake Forest Center for Active Aging (WFCAA), 235 E. Holding Ave. A drive-thru system utilizing the East Holding Avenue entrance to the WFCAA will be implemented to help ensure a smooth drop-off experience. 

Sponsored by Skylift Garage Doors, the event will offer community members the opportunity to protect themselves from identity theft and dispose of confidential documents in an environmentally responsible manner. There is a limit of four “banker-box” sized boxes or four large bags of paper per household or business and a limit of one trip per household.

As part of Saturday’s event, community members can also dispose of laptops, cell phones, circuit boards, and other electronics items. Accepted items include, but are not limited to, laptops, servers, cell phones, mainframes, circuit boards, keyboards, VCRs, electric typewriters, and radios.
