Election Day
On Tuesday, Nov. 5,Mayor Vivian Jones won a fourth term defeating challenger Bill Randall. Mayor Jones won 71.11 percent of the 2,575 ballots cast in the election to Randall's 28.27 percent. Incumbent Margaret Jones Stinnett also won another term on the town's Board of Commissioners, capturing 30.68 percent of the votes. Jim Thompson, chairman of the town's parks and recreation advisory board, won the other open seat on the board of commissioners, with 29.38 percent of the Wake County votes.
