Police investigating stray bullets in Del Webb at Traditions, request public’s assistance

Wake Forest Police Chief Jeff Leonard and the Wake Forest Police Department are asking for the public’s help identifying and locating the person or persons responsible for firing the gunshots that recently damaged two homes in the Del Webb at Traditions neighborhood. There were no injuries as a result of either incident.

Both incidents remain under investigation, but police believe the damage in both cases may have been caused by people taking target practice or possibly hunting.

“These stray bullets are completely unacceptable, and it’s extremely fortunate that nobody was hurt in either of these cases,” Chief Leonard said. “Our officers are actively investigating these incidents, but I want to remind everyone that owns a firearm of the critical obligation they have to be mindful of the safety of others when shooting their guns.”

The Police Department relies on the Town’s citizens to be its “eyes and ears.” Anyone with information related to these incidents is urged to call the Wake Forest Police Department Tip Line at 919-435-9610. All calls are confidential.
