Spend a couple Sunday evenings in September with family and friends at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road, while enjoying some foot-tapping, finger-snapping good times during the 2025 Concerts in the Park. “The Deloreans” will headline the first concert on Sunday, Sept. 7, followed by “The Phoebes” on Sunday, Sept. 14. Free and open to everyone, these performances are scheduled from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Joyner Park amphitheater.

The Deloreans are a high-energy ’80s tribute band based in Virginia, performing throughout the East Coast and beyond. Known for their vibrant costumes, dynamic stage presence, and attention to detail, The Deloreans bring an authentic and engaging throwback experience to every show.

A fast-rising force, The Phoebes Band performs the perfect mix of Rock & Blues with soulful vocals, screaming guitars, and a driving rhythm section. The band was the winner of the 2024 WRAL Voters Choice Awards: Best Local Band of the Triangle and the winner of the 2024 Bands and Clubs of the Triangle: Best Local Band of the Year.

Attendees are invited to bring a picnic, leashed pets, a blanket, or lawn chair and enjoy the music. However, alcoholic beverages, smoking, and unleashed pets are prohibited at Joyner Park.

As a bonus, on September 7 from 5-7 p.m., the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Advisory Board will provide an array of organized games and activities as part of the 14th annual Wake Forest Unplugged. This free, family-friendly event offers area residents a unique opportunity to “disconnect” from their cell phones, computers and other electronic devices and “reconnect” with their community, friends, and family by engaging in healthier, more active pursuits.
