WAKE FOREST, NC - Due to the current drought, Raleigh Water activated Stage 1 water-use restrictions effective today (April 20). Since the Town of Wake Forest is served by Raleigh Water, these restrictions apply to all Wake Forest residents.
These measures protect our water supply while allowing you to maintain your home and yard. Small changes by everyone help preserve water for drinking, healthcare, and emergency needs.
Outdoor watering rules and guidelines for indoor use are provided below:
Outdoor Watering Rules
- Sprinklers (automatic and manual): Water only between midnight and 10 a.m. Odd-numbered addresses: Tuesdays; even-numbered addresses: Wednesdays.
- Hose-end sprinklers: Use from 6-10 a.m. or 6-10 p.m. Odd-numbered addresses: Tuesdays; even-numbered addresses: Wednesdays.
- Handheld hoses and drip irrigation: Allowed anytime.
- Leaks: Fix plumbing or service line leaks within 48 hours after written notice.

Indoor Use
- Restaurants will serve tap water only upon request.
- Hotels, motels, and B&Bs will ask guests staying more than one night to reuse towels and bedsheets.
