News release from Wake County:
As the extreme weather due to Winter Storm Fern subsides, Wake County is making plans to close the emergency shelters opened over the weekend.
The shelter at Heritage High School in Wake Forest will be closing today, Jan. 26, at noon. Plans have been made to help transport any remaining guests to other shelters or facilities.
A second shelter at Southeast Raleigh High school remains open, but plans are underway to close this facility as well.
