WAKE FOREST, NC – Raleigh Water crews are responding to a water leak near the intersection of South Main Street/US 1A and Friendship Chapel Road.
Beginning around 9 a.m., the northbound lane along South Main will be closed in front of 1248 S. Main St. Traffic will be shifted into the center turn lane, so traffic will continue to flow along South main during the work.
In addition, the westbound lane along Friendship Chapel Road will be closed. Westbound traffic will be detoured back to South Franklin Street, where motorists will make a left turn onto South Franklin, followed by another left turn onto Dr. Calvin Jones Highway/NC 98 Bypass.
Delays are expected, so drivers may wish to avoid the area and take an alternate route. Motorists traveling through the area are advised to use caution, follow posted detour signs, and allow extra travel time.
