RecCards

RecCardsBoth Wake Forest residents and non-residents ages 11 and older must have a Recreation Card (RecCard) to access amenities offered at the Wake Forest Center for Active Aging.

Beginning Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, non-Wake Forest residents will be required to pay $25 for their WFCAA RecCards, while Wake Forest residents will receive theirs for free.

The decision to charge non-Wake Forest residents for their RecCards (beginning January 1, 2026) is modeled after the policy adopted by the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department. This approach offers an appropriate benefit to Wake Forest taxpayers whose tax dollars help pay for the WFCAA building, maintenance, and operations without imposing an unfair burden on people who enjoy the WFCAA but happen to live outside Wake Forest.

For both residents and non-residents, there is a $5 replacement fee for lost or stolen cards.

To obtain a RecCard you must first create an online profile

Create Profile

Then, visit the WFCAA during normal business hours to have your picture taken and present proof of residency. Acceptable forms of proof include a valid picture ID with your current address, a current utility bill with your street address, or other document that includes your full name and address.

Valid for one year

Rec Cards are valid for one year from the date of purchase and must be renewed annually.

At the time of renewal, individuals must return to the WFCAA with verification documents proving they still reside within the Wake Forest Town Limits.

Provide access to amenities

Wake Forest residents and non-residents who obtain a RecCard have access to amenities offered at the WFCAA and all Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources facilities, including Joyner Park Community Center, 701 Harris Road, and Flaherty Park Community Center, 1226 N. White St.
