WAKE FOREST, NC – GoTriangle has announced important route and service changes for early November that will enhance reliability and increase transit options for riders in Wake Forest. These changes include all-day Wake Forest-Raleigh Express (WRX) service from Wake Forest to Triangle Town Center and peak express trips between Wake Forest and Downtown Raleigh.
Starting Sunday, Nov. 9, Route WRX will transition from being operated by GoRaleigh to GoTriangle and begin offering hourly weekday service from 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Two trips will run in the morning from Wake Forest to the Raleigh Union Station Bus Facility (RUS Bus) in Downtown Raleigh, departing Wake Forest around 5:40 a.m. and 6:40 a.m. Two afternoon trips will run from the RUS Bus in Downtown Raleigh to Wake Forest, departing around 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. All other day trips will circulate between Wake Forest and Triangle Town Center.
During non-peak times, passengers can reach Downtown Raleigh by connecting to GoRaleigh Route 1 at Triangle Town Center, which offers 10-minute frequency. Additionally, connections can be made in Wake Forest via Go Wake Forest (microtransit service) and Rolesville Microlink services.
“As Wake Forest continues to boom, more transit options are coming,” said Wake Forest Mayor Vivian Jones, GoTriangle Board of Trustees member. “I’m so excited for these service changes as our town and region continue to move forward.”
