The Town of Wake Forest provides mandatory residential sanitation service for single-family dwellings (up to four total units) that have private driveways. The service includes one trash cart, one recycling cart and weekly collection service.
Carts are to be used for household trash only. Yard trimmings and bulk items are collected separately and should not be in the cart.
Use the "My Schedule" function below to determine your collection day and/or receive a customized calendar or notification for your trash and recycling schedule! Use the "Waste Wizard" to sort your waste properly.
Town ordinance requires that trash be bagged before being placed in the cart. This prevents flyaway litter as the cart is emptied into the truck. Also, do not place bags or boxes of trash on the ground. No bags or boxes of trash left beside the cart will be serviced.
Only carts properly positioned along the right-of-way are eligible for curbside collection service. When setting your carts out for collection, please remember the following:
Republic Services offers free collection assistance for the elderly and disabled.

During holiday weeks, your normal garbage and recycling collection day may change. Collection may occur even though Town Hall is closed. Trash and recycling customers are encouraged to refer to the holiday schedule webpage five to seven days prior to a holiday for updated collection schedules and additional information concerning affected Town services.
If you encounter any problems or have any questions concerning your service, contact Public Works at 919-435-9570.
In the event that you move, do not take the Town's trash or recycling cart with you. These carts are the property of the Town of Wake Forest and are numerically registered to the address to which they were originally delivered. Additionally, there's no need to cancel your service. Simply leave carts in the garage or behind the home.
