Youth Baseball, Softball & T-Ball registration begins February 1 for residents, February 8 for non-residents

Friday, January 26, 2024 - 11:51am

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department will accept online and in-person registrations throughout February for youth baseball, softball, and T-ball for boys and girls ages 5-17 according to the following schedule:

  • February 1-7 – Wake Forest residents only

  • February 8-29 - Wake Forest residents & non-Wake Forest residents

  • March 1-8 – Late registration, including a $15 late fee.

Beginning Thursday, Feb. 1, online registration will be available at https://bit.ly/WFTeamSideline, along with team placement and draft information and league rules. In-person registrations will be accepted at the Joyner Park Community Center, 701 Harris Road.

The fee is $60 for Wake Forest residents and $100 for non-Wake Forest residents. A participant’s eligibility is determined by his or her age on April 30, 2024, and a birth certificate is required for new participants.

Games will be played primarily on weeknights from April through late June.

Space is limited and several age groups are expected to fill quickly. Anyone attempting to register for a group that is full will be placed on a waiting list. Please note: There is no guarantee of team placement for anyone placed on the waiting list.

Volunteer coaches are needed. The PRCR Department’s Youth Leagues are designed to teach fair play and sportsmanship, develop fundamental baseball skills, and promote a fun and healthy lifestyle. Anyone interested in sharing these skills with area young people is urged to sign up as a volunteer at https://bit.ly/WFTeamSideline.

Please note that all volunteer coaches must pass a background check. For more information, contact Athletics Specialist Mikkel Patterson at 919-435-9557 or [email protected].
