WAKE FOREST, NC – The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department is inviting you to participate in the 17th Annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (WLSL) on Thursday, June 25, at Holding Park Aquatic Center, 133 W. Owen Ave. The WLSL brings together people of all ages and skill levels for a fun, life-saving event that promotes essential water safety skills, empowering individuals to enjoy water activities with confidence and care.
Free 30-minute swimming lesson sessions are scheduled throughout the day for the following age categories: 3-5, 6-8, 9-12, 13-17, and 18 and older. Again, there is no cost to participate, but advanced registration is required at https://wakeforestnc.recdesk.com/Community/Program (search “WLSL”).
Drowning is a leading cause of preventable death, especially for young children. The WLSL works to raise awareness about the life-saving power of formal swimming lessons and the critical role of water safety education for kids and adults alike. Through their participation, the PRCR Department and Holding Park Aquatic Center are joining a global movement to spread the message that Swimming Lessons Save Lives™.
