Wake Forest Police Department to host canned food drive Sunday at Texas Roadhouse

The Wake Forest Police Department will host a canned food drive to benefit the Northern Community Food Security Team (NCFST) on Sunday, June 8, from 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. at Texas Roadhouse, 11440 Capital Blvd.

Wake Forest Police officers will be onsite accepting donations of non-perishable foods, including canned meats (tuna, chicken), canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, and cereal. Please note: no glass containers can be accepted.

Anyone who donates a non-perishable food item will receive a free Texas Roadhouse appetizer.

The NCFST is a network of partners and community members that are passionate about eliminating food insecurity in Northern Wake County. The NCFST also serves as a collaborative hub where volunteers and local organizations assemble to discuss and develop strategies to fight hunger in Northern Wake County with a special emphasis on areas in and around Wake Forest and Rolesville. Among its many initiatives, the NCFST stocks mini food pantries at the Hope House, 334 N. Allen Road, and the Northern Regional Center, 350 E. Holding Ave.
