Tickets on sale for Renaissance Centre’s holiday performances, “Plaid Tidings” & “One Christmas Night in Memphis”
Tickets are now on sale for North Wake Theatre’s “Plaid Tidings – A Holiday Edition” (December 10-11) and “One Christmas Night in Memphis” (December 16-17) at the Wake Forest Renaissance Centre, 405 S. Brooks St.
The “Forever Plaid” boys are back for three performances of “Plaid Tidings – A Holiday Edition” Saturday-Sunday, Dec. 10-11. Saturday’s performances are scheduled for 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., while Sunday’s show starts at 3 p.m. Reserved seats for all performances are $25 plus tax.
For this Christmas special, the legendary Plaids return to Earth to spread yuletide joy by performing a selection of all-time holiday favorites. “Plaid Tidings” offers the best of Forever Plaid, tied up in a nifty package with a big Christmas bow on top! This truly "heaven-sent" holiday treat will lift audiences' spirits and fill them with nostalgia for a bygone era of classic music sung in perfect harmony.
The Renaissance Centre will offer three performances of “One Christmas Night in Memphis” Friday-Saturday, Dec. 16-17. The Friday show gets underway at 7:30 p.m., while the Saturday performances are offered at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Reserved seats for these shows range from $20-$35 plus tax.
“One Christmas Night in Memphis” loosely recreates the night of December 4, 1956, when four of the biggest names in early rock ‘n’ roll just happened to end up at Sun Records at the same time. The studio engineer kept the tape rolling and the media quickly dubbed the impromptu session the “Million Dollar Quartet.”
The cast will transport the audience to Memphis for this one night in rock ‘n’ roll history, bringing to life the music of Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash.
