WAKE FOREST, NC - Raleigh Water crews are responding to a water main break at the intersection of East Chestnut Avenue and Mill Street. For the safety of work crews, East Chestnut Avenue is closed near the Mill Street intersection.
A signed detour is in place directing motorists around the affected area. Delays are expected, so motorists may wish to avoid the area and use an alternate route.
The following detour is in effect:
Eastbound on East Chestnut
- Right onto Mill Street (or left toward the dead end if needed)
- Left onto East Oak Avenue
- Left onto Brewer Avenue, back to East Chestnut
Westbound on East Chestnut
- Left onto Brewer Avenue
- Right onto East Oak
- Right onto Elizabeth Avenue back to East Chestnut
The work is expected to be completed by 5 p.m. today (Saturday, Dec. 6).
