Raleigh Water to close portions of South Main Street/US 1A & Elm Avenue November 6

  • On Thursday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Raleigh Water will close South Main Street/US 1A at the Elm Avenue intersection, along with the eastbound lane of Elm from South Main to South White Street.
  • Detours will be in place along South Main Street/US 1A.

WAKE FOREST, NC – On Thursday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Raleigh Water will close the portion of South Main Street/US 1A at the Elm Avenue intersection, along with the eastbound lane of Elm from South Main to South White Street. The closures are necessary to allow crews to replace a water valve box. 

The following detours will be in place:

  • Motorists traveling along northbound South Main Street be detoured to Front Street, East Roosevelt Avenue, and South White Street.
  • Motorists traveling along southbound South Main Street will be detoured to East Holding Avenue and South White Street. 

Signage and cones will be in place managing traffic flow and safely directing motorists around the work area. Delays are expected, so drivers may wish to avoid the area and take an alternate route. For more information, call Raleigh Water’s Luis Nunez at 919-606-5178.
