The second annual Wake Forest Diwali Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, from noon-3 p.m. at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road. Diwali is India’s biggest and most cherished festival of the year. Known as the “Festival of Lights,” Diwali symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil, showcasing the indomitable human spirit.

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources (PRCR) Department is now accepting applications from food trucks, vendors, and nonprofit organizations that wish to participate in this year’s Diwali Festival. The online application is available through Monday, Sept. 1, at https://bit.ly/WFDiwaliFestival.

As interest in the Wake Forest Diwali Festival grows, the PRCR Department is committed to securing food trucks, vendors, and nonprofits whose cuisine, missions, and efforts align with the purpose and spirit of the event. As a result, participating food trucks, vendors, and nonprofit organizations must provide products, services, education, or activities that relate directly to Indian culture.
