WAKE FOREST, NC - The Wake Forest Planning Department recently published an updated version of its Active Developments Map and gave it a new name - Development Activity Dashboard. The user-friendly, interactive experience is designed to simplify the development process and help community members better understand the various stages and approvals for new projects.

Available under “Resources” on the homepage of the Town website (wakeforestnc.gov) and at www.wakeforestnc.gov/planning/development, the Development Activity Dashboard provides an overview of development activity and the status of projects occurring in the Town’s planning jurisdiction or in areas proposed for annexation. Features of the new dashboard include:

  • A new category for projects that are currently under construction
  • Information on upcoming public hearings related to specific projects
  • Graphs that display project data for easy visualization
  • Updated interactive abilities that can be personalized on a user-by-user basis
  • Direct links to the project plans in the Town’s plan review portal (GeoCivix)

In addition, several useful features of the former Active Development Map have remained unchanged. For example, users can still find contact information for staff, search projects displayed by type of development, and read brief overviews of each project.

The Planning Department updates the dashboard frequently as new projects are submitted and existing projects progress through the plan review process. For more information about the Development Activity Dashboard, visit www.wakeforestnc.gov/planning/development or call the Planning Department at 919-435-9510.

Proposed projects, along with detailed plans and comments from Town staff, can be viewed on the Town website but require an account in the Town’s Electronic Plan Review or GeoCivix system. For more information or to sign up for an account, visit www.wakeforestnc.gov/planning/electronic-plan-review.
