New bus pad, shelter & bench to be installed at Crenshaw Trace beginning September 6

Wednesday, August 31, 2022 - 1:24pm

Weather permitting, on Tuesday, Sept. 6, Town crews will begin installing a new bus pad at the bus stop in front of Crenshaw Trace Apartments, 987 Durham Road. The stop is part of the Wake Forest Loop - a fare-free bus route servicing Wake Forest and a portion of Wakefield.

The installation of the bus pad is scheduled to continue daily from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. through Friday, Sept. 9. To help ensure the safety of work crews, a brief lane closure may be required when the concrete is poured. In the event a lane closure is necessary, signage and cones will be in place to manage traffic flow and alert pedestrians and motorists of the work in progress.

A week or so later, after the concrete is cured, crews will install a new bus shelter and bench.

Although the multipurpose trail in the vicinity of the Crenshaw Trace bus stop will be closed September 6-9, GoRaleigh buses will continue to service the stop a safe distance from the work zone.
