NCFST to host canned food drive at Farmers Market April 18

  • The NCFST will host a canned food drive on Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Wake Forest Farmers’ Market, located along South Taylor Street behind the Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St.

WAKE FOREST, NC – The Northern Community Food Security Team (NCFST) will host a canned food drive on Saturday, April 18, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Wake Forest Farmers’ Market. The Farmers’ Market is located along South Taylor Street behind the Wake Forest Town Hall, 301 S. Brooks St.

NCFST volunteers will be onsite accepting donations of non-perishable foods, including canned meats (tuna, chicken), canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter, jelly, and cereal. Please note: no glass containers can be accepted. 

All donations will be used to stock local mini food pantries and help feed those in need in Wake Forest. For more information, contact Community Outreach Manager Andrew Brown, Jr. at abrown@wakeforestnc.gov.

The NCFST is a network of partners and community members that are passionate about eliminating food insecurity in Northern Wake County. The NCFST also serves as a collaborative hub where volunteers and local organizations assemble to discuss and develop strategies to fight hunger in Northern Wake County with a special emphasis on areas in and around Wake Forest and Rolesville. Among its many initiatives, the NCFST stocks mini food pantries at the Hope House, 334 N. Allen Road, and the Northern Regional Center, 350 E. Holding Ave.
